Product Overview

The AP-SG6500E-26XF2Q is a new-generation intelligent aggregation and access switch designed by AIRPRO for carrier and Metropolitan Area Network (MAN) applications.

It provides 24 × 10GbE SFP+ ports and 2 × 40GbE QSFP ports, delivering high-density, high-performance connectivity for 10G access and network aggregation scenarios.

Designed with telecom-grade reliability in mind, the AP-SG6500E-26XF2Q supports redundant power supplies and robust redundancy features to help ensure high availability and stable network operation. It is well suited for service-provider access, aggregation, and general-purpose 10G network convergence deployments.

Key Features

Performance and Scalability

The AP-SG6500E-26XF2Q provides high-performance 10 Gigabit Ethernet connectivity through hot-pluggable 10GbE SFP+ transceivers. Depending on the optical transceiver selected, transmission distances of up to 300 meters over multimode fiber and approximately 10–40 km over single-mode fiber can be supported.

The AP-SG6500E-26XF2Q supports redundant AC and DC power supply options, providing flexible deployment and enhanced reliability for different operating environments.

High-Reliability Networking

Virtual Switch Framework (VSF)
VSF enables multiple AIRPRO switches to be virtualized as a single logical device, allowing information and forwarding tables to be shared across member switches. By combining multiple physical switches, VSF increases overall port density and switching capacity while simplifying network management. It also enhances network availability and reliability through device-level redundancy.

G.8032 Ethernet Ring Protection
The AP-SG6500E-26XF2Q supports ITU-T G.8032 v2 Ethernet Ring Protection Switching (ERPS), providing rapid protection and recovery for Ethernet traffic, with switching times of less than 50 ms under supported conditions. It can be deployed in various ring network architectures, including single rings, tangent rings, intersecting rings, and dual-ring topologies.

Multi-Process MSTP
Multi-process MSTP enables independent spanning-tree processes to operate on the same device. New access rings can be introduced through separate MSTP processes without affecting existing network traffic. Different spanning-tree protocols or configurations can be applied to individual processes as required.

AIRPRO EMVTE Technology
AIRPRO EMVTE (Enhanced Multi-VLAN Subnet Traffic Engineering) provides multi-link redundancy and load balancing for dual-homed network architectures across multiple VLAN subnets. Combined with ULPP (Uplink Protection Protocol) and ULSM (Uplink State Monitor), EMVTE enables rapid uplink failover and network convergence to help maintain service continuity and network performance.

Enhanced Security
IEEE 802.1X Authentication
IEEE 802.1X port-based access control helps ensure that users and devices are authenticated before network access is granted. Authentication can be integrated with standards-based RADIUS servers for centralized access control.

Comprehensive Access Control Lists (ACLs)
Ingress and egress ACLs enable administrators to control access to network resources based on Layer 2, Layer 3, and Layer 4 header information. The switch also supports time-based ACLs, allowing access policies to be applied during specified time periods.

DHCP Snooping
The AP-SG6500E-26XF2Q supports DHCP Snooping to help protect the network against unauthorized DHCP servers and DHCP-based attacks. Trusted and untrusted ports can be configured to control DHCP traffic. DHCP Snooping binding information and Option 82 can also work with features such as 802.1X and ARP security to strengthen user access control.

ARP and MAC Security
A comprehensive range of Layer 2 security mechanisms is supported, including ARP Guard, anti-ARP scanning, and MAC security features, helping protect the network against common Layer 2 attacks and improve overall network reliability.

Advanced Multicast Features
Multicast VLAN Registration (MVR)
The AP-SG6500E-26XF2Q supports MVR (Multicast VLAN Registration), enabling multicast traffic to be efficiently shared across different VLANs while maintaining VLAN separation for other traffic. The MVR Trunk function allows multicast VLANs to be associated with trunk ports, consolidating multicast services over common links and improving bandwidth utilization.

IGMP Snooping
With IGMP Snooping, the AP-SG6500E-26XF2Q can prevent unnecessary multicast flooding by forwarding multicast traffic only to ports associated with interested multicast receivers. This helps conserve network bandwidth and improves multicast service efficiency.
